Mourning Chauvin-istic Behavior

I’m sorry for Officer Chauvin, because he murdered Floyd.

He gave us an example of behavior we should all avoid.

I’m sorry for the others, who just stood by and watched.

We got to witness injustice in “justice” getting botched.

Do unto others as you would also want to be treated.

And, protest until change occurs because you have been cheated.

Would the officers in Minneapolis like to experience the same

treatment they gave Floyd? My God! What a horrific shame.

How could any officer, for almost nine minutes kneel

on a fellow citizen’s neck and not be aiming to kill?

So, leave everyone’s neck and windpipe the fuck alone

We all need room to breath, we all need some air-zone!

Under pressure? Experiencing outrage? Me, too! Me too! Me Too!

This world is a like a shipwreck, sometimes it’s a crazy zoo.

Some people are aggressive; they’re killers in disguise.

But, patience and maturity makes other people wise.

This, too, will pass…this time period? I guess it is a season.

So, pull out those books about history, full of logic and reason!

We should all have a voice; we should all have a choice

to embrace love and forgiveness and eventually rejoice!

Rejoice you are not Chauvin, rejoice you are not Trump!

Rejoice if your free, to live and breathe, even if you live in a dump.

Rejoice if your life has followed a long and winding thread

filled with stories of survival that could have left you for dead.

Then lift up your voice, and wail; then lift up your heart and sing

even one day living on earth is a magical, miraculous thing!

We’re vulnerable and we’re delicate, we’re strong and we’re often scared.

We just want to know that somebody loved, that somebody actually cared.

We all make mistakes, some plenty, and some even lead to death.

Especially the ones that don’t allow others to enjoy their God-given breath.

“I can’t breath! I can’t breath!” was more than one person’s frustrated cry.

So take a deep breath, be safe, take care, don’t kill, and try not to die.

Live and let live…and peacefully, so when the war is finished,

when anger and rage have been set aside, and all has been diminished,

we might take a break, reflect, and think…then, we might take a chance,

and once again smile, once again dance, and once again embrace romance.

God loves all the peoples like flowers all over the earth.

We don’t get to choose our colors given to us at birth.

History is a tapestry, woven with stories of life.

The times of peace and beauty that follow the times of strife.

Black lives are sacred and beautiful, made in the image of God.

God is not as you know him, he walks where angels trod.

The universal Goddess may surprise you, too.

She may be your earth mother, made in the image of you.
